Kay Yow is an inspiring, strong, passionate, successful, and amazing woman and extremely special to NC State. I noticed this for the first time today while waiting for the bus to go home. I wish I was more noticeable.
Kay Yow was the head coach of State's woman's basketball team in 1975. She was the first full time woman's basketball coach. She had over 700 wins in her career. She even coached the US Women's basketball team in 1988! Nothing got in her way, not even being diagnosed with breast cancer.
