merry happy

umm not really but Kate Nash's song is nice.
Break is boring and my lethargy is NOT helping when it comes to going out.
I don't know what I want for Christmas but at the same time I do.
I would like
  • rain boots, yellow or black, whichever
  • stephen colbert "#1 threat to america" shirt...I can live without it though
  • wriststrong!
  • colbert's sports illustrated
  • colbert tote bag (if they are still selling?)
  • colbert nation t-shirt
  • mascara (maybe that new penelope cruz one?)
  • new perfume
  • more l'oreal liquid liner, almay ain't cutting it -__-
  • i want lip / cheek stain
  • a gray pea coat, i can settle for red though!
  • black and brown flats!
  • fuzzy socks
  • gloves
  • Time magazine &/or Psychology Today subscription
  • Ink Cartridges (haha more like a necessity but aren't these all?)
I think that's all. Wow, so much for don't really have an idea...but it's like small things I can pick up at the store, or online store for Colbert's stuff. And my mom knows that I need to be with her for most of these things and I don't think she trusts the internet when it comes to putting in her credit card number. So that's why I always reply "nothing really" to "What would you like for Christmas?"

You should see my room, looks flashy with the Christmas lights =) I'll put up a picture later. Looks better than the other pics down there.

Breaaaaak is blah. I want to see Dipali Smruti Ektaa Nehal Shirley Zhara Noor Fathia Fady Ruth Jessica Esita Komal Shreya and more! So little time, and so little gas money haha.

Umm okay I'll put pretty pictures and more words later, good night.

cold feet

No really, my feet are numb right now. Open toed flats should only be worn in the spring and summer, no matter how cute they look!

Anyways, I just completed my first final of the semester, which was public speaking. I believe I did fairly well, it is just a lot of writing and numerous interpretations and answer for one simple question. That was the only challenging part. But let's hope it went well!

Also, if I start sounding dellusional, I would like you to know I am currently functioning on approximately two hours of sleep. No, I didn't stay up to cram or party or anything, I initially tried to sleep at 11:30. But word from the wise, do NOT listen to subliminal sleep learning hypnosis while trying to sleep, because when Bob says "6, open your eyes," you can never fall asleep.
I was thinking about this before the exam was to start today, that I have done a LOT of things since I've started college. Let's name the ones I can remember:

- Watch a meteor shower (avec un garcon!)
- Win a match or two in BP (: Thanks Phillip!
- Go to Church (twice!)
- Gone to college football games (twice, and State won each time!)
- Stayed all night at the library
- Got my first job!
- Ran from the police hahaha
- Made amazing friends
- Parted from amazing friends
- Won 1st place (for once!...actually twice haha ;])
- Learned the following: American Waltz, bump&grind hahaha, Salsa, Meringue, and Bachata
- Gone to workshops, for requirements and personal interest
- Took the city bus out of spontinaity (bad idea!)
- Enjoyed an international fair
- Do extremely well in math!!
- CSI & Lie To Me!
- Learn to do laundry (even though I never do it often)
- Go to the dollar fifty movie theatre here!
- Played capture the flag hahah
- MET JAKE AND AMIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111
- Gone to a concert, even though it was a band I didn't know

Umm, I swear there is so many more amazing things I have experienced within the 5 fast months here.

I'm just so happy that I've got to do a lot already, it shows promise for my future haha.
Currently, I am watching Mandy sleep get Meg started on her personal blog. I'm happy to inspire<3

Nicest Thing

Helllllooo!

I have to study for my last PreCalc exam, write an argumentative paper, and write an argumentative speech for this week, but I felt like I should be doing something more important, like writing in here!

I hate how I don't update, it's like...too much to fill you in, and when I really do think about it, it's really nothing to update you on.

But first things first.

People change, sometimes you don't know why, but they just do. And like my wise Noor says, don't chase people. And you may be thinking, "Oh Pranj is talking about a boy," but for once I'm not!

It's just weird. I thought these people were amazing, loyal, trustworthy, best people on Earth. Like while knowing them, I was like, "what was my life worth without them?" and now I realized, they're not worth MY TIME. Who knew that some people can turn around 180 degrees? I used to know every detail about their day, constantly talking to them, whether it be in person or via phone. Now, the only time they talk to me is if they need something. We never talk. I do not like the drastic change, especially when I don't know the reason behind it.

N'importe quoi.

Eewww, finals are coming up! The main exams I'm super nervous about is Math and Psy 230.

SPEAKING OF PSY 230.
USFLKJSDFLKJ HOW DID I DO SO POOR ON THAT TEST?! I read the chapter before class, took intensive notes, I went to class and took more notes on top of the ones I wrote, I went to a study group from beginning to end, I went over all the powerpoints, did example questions, studied til 4am the night before.

But the person who missed class, fell asleep during class, didn't even read, get more points than me. I was sooo furious, I wanted to cry. UGH.

Tears....my boss is actually married, and has a second daughter on the way. He totally lead me on, asking me how my day was...not wearing his wedding ring, making eye contact when he asked me a question. HE SHOWED ALL THE SIGNS OF LOVE! How could I not sense his playerness?

hahahahha i kid i kid

So I realized that Kate Nash and Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michealson are my favoritttttttte artists. Just listen to the lyrics, like they match EXACTLY how I feel. It hasn't been til like LAST MONTH that I finally found a song that I could relate to.

Thank you Tim for getting me hooked on to CSI Miami & Lie To Me! Two more shows to add on to my list of fav shows:
Colbert <3
The Office
Jeopardy
I think I have more but I guess they're not as important if I can't name them off the bat haha
So guess what? I'm writing this in my REAL room, in Charlotte...and guess who's sleeping over? Who's next to me in the same bed? YEAH, NOOR! How funny? SO FUNNY! It's ironic because this is both of our''s first LEGIT sleepover!

Okay, I really should go to bed, Noor and I have to be out the house at 5am . Mom's driving us back in time to make our 8ams!

be happy.

Friday, October 2, 2009

So I'm really annoyed right now...I never understood the meaning of property til now. Don't take something that's NOT yours. Just saying.

I'm tired of my English teacher randomly not being in class, if you add all her absenses up, it would be a month's worth of classes.
I love how tedious my job is that it makes me forget how amazingly interesting it can be. Like, I guess I've become tolerant to something I used to find SO exciting. I used to stare at each and every black and white photo I scanned, and looked on the back for dates or maybe the names of the people in it. I mean I still do, if the pictures appear interesting, but after working for a few weeks, I sometimes forget to even look into the photograph. I don't like how everything, small to big, that excited me is now something I don't think twice about. Am I changing? Is this what maturing means?

Boys are waste of time, a hypothesis that has been proven to be correct.

I hate my chipped nail polish and I hate how I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

My classes suck.
I hate how the only thing I do at the gym is the elliipticals, but I don't know how to function the weight machines.

I'm starting to get annoyed by a lot of things.

I feel like a complainer but I wouldn't be if I was in such a shitty mood.

Rule #43 about Pranjali Shah:
I don't sleep in your bed, so don't sleep in mine.

I'm sick and tired of pizza, but I'll still eat it.

College is still so much funnnnnn and I have no desire to go back home, I'm not stressed like most of the kids here or anything, but I just have way too much on my mind. Plus I haven't written in here in ages.

I think I'm balding, even though I have no single bald spot on my head...and my hair is in it's most softest state EVER.

I hate losing touch with old friends, but give me a break, I barely find time and energy to call my own parents!

I wish I wasn't so pessimistic.

I wish something could inspire me right now, that's all I need, inspiration.

My number one wish though...is to know exactly what I want to do with my life. I think I could plan my life better and would be more motivated to college work.

In the end,
I still am madly in love with my blankie =)

why yes

I really do love college.

unrealized

I am going to stay for a week at my best friend forever's house in Pennsylvania and it still hasn't hit me yet.

Nor has the fact that the chair I'm sitting on will be my last time before I go to college.

Speaking of college, I have not realized I'm going to be attending one in a matter of DAYS and that my first day of LIFE will start on August 18th, 2009.

I feel scared, nervous, tense about all these things going on (and super excited about Neerali) but...it really hasn't hit me yet. I hate this about me, like I won't realize I'm going to Pennsylvania UNTIL I sit on that plane. I'm going to start my career in Psychology the minute I sit in my first class of the first day of college.

Isn't that a little too late to realize your life is changing every second?

Like AS I'M WRITING about HOW I'M GOING TO STATE....IT STILL HASN'T HIT ME YET =[[[

Ahhh you know what I'm going to miss?

Sitting in the living room in the dark, the only light available is the blue one shining from the TV. Curled up on the couch eating a bowl of cereal (preferably Honey Bunches of Oats, but tonight it was Golden Grahams (yuck!)) watching whatever is on.

If it was considered a hobby, it would be my favorite.

Well, in a few hours my flight will leave my hometown to go to Neerali's =) It's bittersweet, but our time has to come whether we are ready or not.

And for the record, I'm not ready.

Two Birds

Ahh this week was actually quite fantastic!

After all these years, I finally spent a few hours with Bhakti (and we weren't doing garba for once) haha!
I had a few hours with Ranika as well! I showed her the deliciousness of spinach and mozerella ravioli, and how I'm amazing with boiling water ;] haha :p
I'm so so so happy that Neerali is finally in the same country as me, makes life so much easier! And she's home back safe and I see her in a few days!
Friday, I babysat the boys, so adorable! They are incredibly athletic, I've noticed.
I was sitting on the front porch watching (and being eaten alive by vampire bugs, at least the weather was pleasant) the brothers play: Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, and they also rode their bikes and scooters. I felt I was getting some exercise from watching them ;] ahaha The Whitley's actually have a few gorgeous plants in their front yard that I took some pictures of.
When we heard thunder, we ran inside to watch TV. Hayden (5) got bored and wanted to watch a movie. We went through their movie collection and I asked if he wanted to see Ice Age or The Incredibles. Apparently they were boring and not that great. We decided to see his favorite movie, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I definitely realized I've never seen the whole thing because it was longer than I remembered.
These two boys, are so intelligent and well behaved and it makes my life a lot much easier! I'm so going to miss them and how they call me "Miss. Pranjali"!
Tucker (the dog) is so smart. I mean animals are smart, duh. But since I'm never around them, I forget that. Like I was reading my book while the boys were upstairs sleeping, and Tucker was lying on the floor by my feet. When I said Tucker, he immediately looked up at me. Fascinating.
Today, I finally got to hang out with Daniel! We saw "Under the Sea", a mini (very mini haha) documentry on well...sea animals and it was narrated by Jim Carrey. Honestly, I was disappointed and expected a lot more from it. But it was really nice and the video of certain creatures in their natural habitat was breath taking! Haha my favorite part of the day was when Daniel was not trying to tell me to go left or right, but liberal or conservative, and Hitler or Stalin, and Communist or Fascist while I was driving. Oh, Daniel!
Wow I feel like I'm missing a lot and not saying all I need to say. So much is giong on, but not enough is =\ (like buying textbooks and reading Three Cups of Tea, I really should get on that!)

Breakin'

I really want to lock myself up in my closet and not open it until I am 120% ready to leave everything and everyone behind.

God, I'm not ready to be on my own yet, I'm going to screw up and that's my biggest fear =( I'm not independent, dependable, responsible, or smart enough.

You guys, I'm leaving Charlotte next Wednesday, and not returning til September. My new home will be...Raleigh, and it hasn't even hit me yet.

This Modern Love

Since I wrote a lot in the last one, I decided adding on would make it too lengthy (like alch edu >:[ ) soooo here's part dos.

  • I have a wife named Dipali. Thats for you wifey! I've known her since I was like in second grade and she lived right next door when we lived in Wexford. I mean RIGHT NEXT DOOR. It's like we were meant to be heehee. From living only 5 second away from each other to now living 8 hours away, we're actually closer than ever! We've been through a lot, from our elementary days with Harry Potter and Pokemon to now with boys and bra shopping. My family loves her a lot (even thought they don't know the real you like I do ;]]]) but still she has been through a lot and has become an independent person. I love you Dipu!
  • Neerali is my favorite spooner. And my best friend for lifeeeee! She is so intelligent, cultured, hilarious, brilliant, talented, outgoing, curious, and encouraging. I love how we keep in touch so much, it makes up for the lack of seeing each other. You think my blog is cute? Her's OWNS. It's so well written and oh man she knows how to use words to describe thoughts, memories, and experiences. She is so real and I loved how we both talked at least twice a week during her freshman year at GW. Your stories are redickulous and I can't wait to reenact many of them at State. I loooooooove you and twelve more days girl! xxx
  • Laura is invincable. Laura Kimbrell is one of my strongest best friends. She's been through shit none of you guys could even imagine being in. Laura has had it hard but that doesnt' stop her. She works her HARDEST to get through it, and she has which makes her so STRONG, mentally and physically. She has the hugest heart (and boobs, so jealous!) and I love how thoughtful she is. If she sees something and thinks of you, she will get it. She sends you random, cute, so thoughtful cards and letters in the mail, that just make your entire week 10 times better because you didn't expect it. She cares and is thankful! She's a great photographer as well! Her pictures come out beautiful, and I love being her model, even though I'm bad at it hahaha don't like laura you know it's true! I love you to death girl and you WILL find happiness<3
  • Ruth. Ruth. Ruth. This girl is brilliant! Her writing is mellifluous and I love it so much. She understands me all the time! "I hate when we're always asking the questions, how are you?" After all these years, we finally became really close. I still cry when I read what you wrote in my yearbook! I love our walks oh so much. They make my day and I hate when we get to the point where we know we have to go home (thank you foreign parents!) and we have to go our seperate ways but thanks for being one of the only human beings on earth who actually calls back when they reach home safely =) I love you girl and I wish you the best of luck in life because I know you'll go far! Make one promise and still remember me when you're famous! xxx
  • Last but not least, Zhara. You're a lucky trick to get mentioned twice, honey. Did you know whenever I'm home I wear my tie dye shirt .... it's like I wear it all the time. Not because it was given by you or anything...hahahaha. Anyways you're so funny and you're a great listener (unless something's on TV) and you're always saying I'm hot and I believe it because you're the most straight up person EVER. You're funny and I love you and thanks for being with me via text aim facebook phonecall everyday all day. Oh and FUNNY PEOPLE JULY 31ST. The movie made for us. <33>
  • I color code my clothes in my closet. How's that for alliteration? Yeaah it goes: Red, Orange, Yellow, White, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, Gray, and Black...and of course the colors in between. It makes my closet look pretty =)
  • My Colbert Collection is growing. Thanks to all you lovers of mine! I have his book, some chapters on audio, an "I HEART COLBERT" button (thanks frazier!), his Newsweek issue, & his Best of DVD (last two, thanks JASMINE!), newspaper clippings, a magazine page (thanks Zhara), tons of pictures of him, and pictures of me with him! Oh and Harini's amazing card that made my LIFE. I really love Colbert so much and when I pass his pictures when I'm around the house I never fail to blow a kiss to him =)
  • I have a blankie. Since I was in kindergarten and I can't let go, no matter how many holes are in it. It just helps me fall asleep and just holding it makes me all warm and happy inside (hahahaha, I'm serious!) I really hate when I have to sleep over at other people's houses because my mom won't let me take blankie. Right now I'm suffering from a dilemma on whether or not I should take it to State. I mean, I'm not TRYING to "let go" of it, I just don't want Noor to think I'm so 18 year old baby ahahah. Don't worry guys, blankie is sanitized on the regular, and after it's been covering my body for all these years, it's like amazing! hahaha
  • I WILL study abroad. I am going to France and staying there for a semester to practice my French and live like a French (for a semster haha)<3
  • I wish I grew up somewhere in New England. I just like the style, a lot. I just do.

learning

You know the whole saying, "Trying to figure out who I am..." seemed so stupid and pathetic to me few years ago.

How can you not know yourself? But then when I would fill out little surveys about me or when in the beginning of the school year you have to say one thing about yourself, I failed to find anything to tell besides saying I'm Indian and left handed. Now that's pathetic.

But now I am discovering more and more LITTLE things about myself, that I sometimes I haven't noticed.

  • I wear pearl earrings everyday. Actually one of my uncles on my mom's side is a jeweller and has his own store in India. Last time I went ( 2007 ) he asked if I wanted a jewellery set and in which stone. Pearls are my birthstones. And I find them oh so classy. I got a ring with a pearl in the middle (real I must mention!) and a pair of pearl studs. Junior year I was walking out of Calculus before school (retest lol) and as I put on my backpack, it just yanked the pearl off my ring. Sigh =(
  • I don't think I can go a day without talking to Zhara. We have a daily phone call around 12-1. But that's just an average. If you were in the room next to my bedroom at night, all you would hear is me laughing so hard to this crazy Somali. She makes my day and every time something happens to me, I pick up my phone to tell her. She my zebra for life.
  • I'm a slow reader. In class I loved and hated having book partners. I loved having it because I'm a real social animal (aren't we all?) but my partner was normal and read at a normal pace and would complete the page before me. And I on the other hand am rereading the paragraph in order to understand it fully. However, I hate when people wait on me and I feel rushed even if the person isn't rushing me and I never end up reading the whole thing...I just skim. It's horrible. I eventually never understand what I was suppose to read til a discussion or something haha. Reading actually is something hard for me to do. I guess I'm underestimating myself but I sometimes fail to fully comprehend and visualize what the author is trying to say. No wonder I always got 2's on AP Eng exams =(
  • I'm a very dependent person. Even though I spend most of the time alone at home, I hate it. I would choose group projects over individual ones. If I have something important to do, I'll ask someone to accompany me and if they can't at the moment, I will wait for them to do so. I mean I am not THAT dependent but I would rather prefer someone being with me and helping me make decesions and giving me a second opinion than just doing things on my own. I'm planning to COMPLETELY change that in the next four years.
  • I love to laugh. Yeah who doesn't? But Comedy Central is my life and I try my best to surround myself with funny people because that is what makes my world go round. I try to think that I'm funny, actually I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty humorous. =) hahaha but that's probably why I have an obsession with Colbert, because he's just so damn funny. My favorite celeberties are actually comedians! Will Ferrell, BJ Novak, Steve Carrell, Seth Rogen, etc...
  • If I was any lazier, I'd be in a coma...is actually a true statement hahaha. But seriously. I lack motivation but I hope to find it soon. I sometimes would rather watch tv or lay on my bed and read a book or just be on the computer than go out and like do something super productive. I feel like once I start college, it will change because I WILL have something to do, clubs studying more friends classes partying activities. Like all these years I have to have a car, ride, friends to actually make plans and carry it through. But yeah I'm lazy, I hate it.
  • I LOVE cookies! Make me a plate of any kind of cookies and I'm forever thankful for you. I don't really like making them, just eating them haha. Chocolate chip, sugar, and oatmeal are my favorites. I like Oreo's too. Really, I love all things fat and high in sugar and calories. Ice cream, cake, brownies...mmmm! I'm lazy and love and eat all things fattening. Why am I not obese?
  • I HAVE NO TALENT. Please, unless you make a point, don't lecture on me that I truley have one. I can't sing, draw, paint, act, play any sports or an instrument. I can't write (my vocabulary is extremely mediocre), I'm not brilliant in school and I'm just so sick of not being the best at anything. Not even relatively good! I wish I could say I'm a "jack of all trades and master of none" but I'm really not even good at anything. Wow I sound like I have no self esteem but I call it the truth. I'm not okay with it but I' ve accepted the fact that I'm a little less than average.

Oh god I wrote too much =( I'm not even done..but then again I'm just writing whatever pops in my head.

Oh I love all my best friends<3

Happy Fourth

Haha while trying to login this site, I had to put in my username (aka email) and for some ODD reason I typed in every possible email I had, in chronological order! Haha

princesspranju@hotmai...no thats not it
always_pran...no!
pranjali.shah ... there we go =)

weird I know shut up leave me alone!

I had three bags of clothes that were old, really un fashionable haha from like middle school, and didn't fit in my closet for YEARSSSS. Not even exaggerating or as Afghans say...laaf.
So finally donated them to Goodwill. Finally, I can breathe in my closet without those fashion faux pas in the way. Yeesh.

I went to downtown on Holiday Inn's terrace to see fireworks. Really nice, even though for SOME reason I was pissed off at my family (are you guys starting to notice a pattern hahah). I seriously think I'm just severely PMSing (I love making new discoveries about myself ... and I never get periods so I am just figuring more about myself)

I liked the fireworks a lot. My favorites are when they become smiley faces or hearts or Saturn! Muy creative!

Best thing about that night, I looked hot and a hot guy was next to me
Worst thing about that night, he didn't look at me hahaha

hahahah sorry that's so funny to me.

Okaaay I gave up on Freud and French and went to The Kite Runner, which is 234324 times better!

So yesterday I went to the most dumbest mall ever, Carolina Mall which is in Concord. I've been there a couple of times but I don't remeber it being thisssss bad. And boring. It has a lot of dept stores and I found absolutely nothing. No cute clothes, no nice comforters, nothing for college.

After my mom and I finished looking at the small variety of comforters at I think Belk...she walked across to the "corningwear" section aka the section of the mall where time stands still. God I haaate when my mom looks for new dining wear or whatever that's called. She's checking out each plate and glass and for some reason she finds a difference in each of them. I don't know how but all I know is that you eat and drink off of them, nothing more or less :p

Also, in dept stores (I'm acting as if this was my first time going...) they play a lot of old music. Don't get me wrong, I love classics, and I get very excited when a song is being played and it's also on my iPod. It's just, it's really a lot of old music haha.

Hmm what other completely random thing to talk about...lol

Oh I'm so excited to start school...sorry "college" (it pisses me off when people correct me when I say school instead of college. I really don't need to be corrected though, isn't school synonymous to college? You're taking classes and learning things in both right? Dumb dumb.) Back to what I was trying to say...OH right because I don't have to prepare lunches or dinners for my overly picky and really anal and pretty rude mean scary dad! Woooo! I sympathize for Parth oh so much. Oh soooooooo much.

I like scrubbed and cleaned and sanitized my entire bathroom ALL by myself today, without even being told to... I don't think I need to be told to anyways but still =) I took ze initiative..

Okay hookers, I know you guys are reading this, so pleaseeee comment on here, you don't need a loggin or anything! promise! i've never lied to you guys before have I?

I have a unicorn.

Haha I said before!

I really get hungry around one am

Hello!

First things first, I GOT THE CUTEST PAIRS OF UNDERWEAR TODAY! Like I could probably wear them everyday, but for sanitation's sake, I won't!

Oh I went shopping with Esituhhh today! It's like been forever since I've hung out with her!

OHHHH I finished The Namesake! So so so so so good! I'm really glad I didn't give up halfway due to the fact that I watched the movie a few years ago and knew the gist of the entire plot. Was I wrong, the ending, wow either I didn't remember it or they totally didn't add that to the movie. I kept visualizing the hotttie Kal Penn when I read "Gogol". By the way, Kal Penn fakes the most horrible fobby accent. I can def do better. Haha seriously.

I'm trying to read "The Future of Illusion" but I can't help but to sit in frustration after every two sentences. It is quite a short piece of literature however after an hour I couldn't pass the first two pages. Every sentence, I have to like think and visualize what Freud is trying to tell me, but I'm just not getting it. Reminds me of ''The Heart of Darkness'', LAME. Possibly its difficult because it's a translated book...it's orginally in German. But good lord the way he is trying to convey his message makes me feel like an idiot. I really want to understand because I believe the "Illusion" he is talking about is religion...and well...the future of it.

AND THEY DON'T HAVE SPARKNOTES ON IT :(
tears.

I'm also brushing on my my francais. I am working more on pronounciation, I covered like a chapter or two on conversational French. Under each line is like an easy way on how to say it...pour example

"Je suis americanne"
Jay sweee amayre-cayne
I am American

I'm positive that is not even slightly correct in any form...but you get the point. I sound super French though when I say it outloud. I love it haha but ask me five minutes later and I'll screw it up and sound super touristy.

Sooo mom, one of your co-workers is hot. You introduce me to your managers and all the other old people you work with...

Anyyyyways lol...orientation next week. Hope it goes well and hope my advisor or WHOEVER gives me a LOT of insight on what I should major in, if I should stick with it, what classes will be best for me, etc. I'm in such a dilemma and I realized I just CAN'T do med school. Pranjali Shah is NOT cut out for that stuff. And so I can't be a psychiatrist but I want to make money but not by doing useless psychological research...I suck at that stuff.

Hmmm I love my roommates already and I'm so excited for school to start. But I'm def dreading the whole classes part. I can barely read a Freud book, barely a page and I bet all the textbooks and assignments will be that difficult to comprehend (well for me of course) and ugh. Why can't I be brilliant like the rest of the Indians in the world =( ?????

in a funk.

how can a day go so bad that when you start thinking positive that it has ended, you read your horoscope, and it only forecasts more bad days.

i'm verge of stressed out depression and i'm not doing ANYTHING about it. sitting in my bed all day won't make me ace my tests or get things done but honestly, i've never felt so horrible.

i just want something spontaneous and exciting and adrenaline rushing to happen. i'm tired of trying to find it.

Silence

Just a few minutes ago, I was looking at articles and came across

"Suicide Blast kills 5 American Soldiers"

My heart pounded and I clicked the link and started skimming the article trying NOT to find Fofaria.

I didn't.

Take Care Rajat Bhai :(

Landslide

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack =)
Even though I am depressed the HOSA trip is over =( I regret not taking anyyyy pictures, I looked so goood ;) haahha and had a lot of fun.

The first day we got there, it was rainy and I had major cramps and I was out of it. Mostly, I was super stressed and tensed about the next day to compete. I remember having horrible pain in my 'trapezium' (hosa remember!)

I met a lot of new people, a guy named Andrew who borrowed my lanyard and ended up winning 2nd. GRRR! oh well!

I PLACED TOP 10 =D
I'm a state finalist! there were 20 contestants and I was the better half and i was called onto stage! And when I came back down to sit, my group was chanting my name. Movie moment? Yes. Did tears come? YES. hahaha

Ummmm I wish I could write more, but god its so MUCH. like how i got REALLLLLLLY close to ahem someone :]]]]]]

yeah yeah blah blah blah i'm done!

We Fly Ballons on a Fuel Called Love

I want a Kissing Gourami

I hate Duke, especially their basketball team. Along with Chapel Hill.

Speaking of Puke, oops Duke...I expected the rejection, honestly. I'm so glad it didn't really affect me. I mean yeah I was 99% sure it was going to be a rejection (c'mon, my grades weren't Duke status) but that 1% of hope kept me well...hoping! Oh well, I'm glad Kevin checked it for me, or I'd be more hurt seeing the "We're sorry you're too stupid for our institution." But I deserve some credit. I applied to FIVE universities, and THREE, count them, 1, 2, 3 accepted yours truly!

PROOOOOOOM. I think I'm going to go with Esita, Hannah, and Kelly!

My HOSA speech is about 4 minutes. Do you know what that means? I have about ONE minute to stutter but get my point across without someone shouting "TIME!" I just need to memorize it fareal bruh. I don't want to look at my notecards like at regionals!

I disected the following the past few weeks: Clam, Crayfish, Perch, and Monday will be a frog.
But you know who has the coolest heart of all three? (wait do clams have one...or i didn't see it lol) CRAYFISH! they have holes in there, sick nasty! Don't worry, I won't give a visual. But it is diamond shaped with holes in it! And the cool thing, the holes have a purpose!

mmmm shower time ;] Sorry, no visual of that EITHER!

Thankful

Since I am obsessed with Psychology (especially my textbook!), I keep thinking about life. But I fail to keep in mind that every single person lives a different life and lives in a completely different situation than I do.

From reading the news and listening to my friend's family problems, I have never felt so lucky in my life. To live in a financially stable home, to have the smallest family problems, never to worry if I will have food on the table or not...I am so lucky and I thank my parents for everything. I always took my lifestyle for granted...

I sometimes feel so sheltered though. I am oblivious that there are tragic things happening in the world right now as we speak, it isn't all fiction. I was on Yahoo and I saw an article that children in Somoa who HAVE loving families are taken away to be put into this adopting agency. The families are told that Americans will take care of them by giving them an American education, but their children will be able to visit them back in the Philippines.
On the other hand, the American adopters are told that the child does not have any parents, brothers, or sisters and are simply in foster homes. Now there is a lawsuit taking away children from the caring American families who did not know this situation. The main point I'm struggling to get across is that, these children are snatched from their families (who were lied to) and are shipped across the world in a strangers home not knowing what in the world is going on. One of the interviews I watched was an American man saying that his Samoan girl cried for 3 weeks straight when she first came to the US.

Wow, I could not do it. Lord I'm grateful<3

So I bought my prom ticket and hopefully I can go dress shopping with Dhrumi and Esita =) I want the traditional "long, glamorous" dress...no short mod stuff.

I'm looking at either white, champagne, purple, coraly pink dresses. Who knows for now though. I kind of feel depressed though...mom came to my room asking if someone asked me to prom. I thought she would be happy when I replied, "Nope!" but she looked surprised!
"You're a liar!"
*I wish I was lying about that, mom!* "Nope, no one has asked me!"
"Well if someone did I would have let you go with him!"

Sigh...I got an 85 on my Calculus retake (was 55)

yay?

thinking

I have concluded that I think way too much. Like, way too much. About almost anything.

NC STATE IS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. UHMAYZING. Like the dorms the campus the library the boys the activities the "free expression tunnel" the "brickyard" and the lack of punctuation!!!!

It was honestly a nice campus. Those were pros, what about the cons you may ask?

31 000 chaps
campus is HUMUNGO, too big for my liking
tons of construction going on
all browny and brick
not UNC =(

sigh...but its like TEN MINUTES from my aunt's house, how convenient?! she makes the BEST food. like seriously. THE BEST.

OOH on Friday Ruth got me a carnation! Totally unexpected! And Laura made a CUTE tote bag, box of cookies (it was packaged in the chinese take out box!), and card for moi! She left it in the mailbox and I got it today!

AH so much to write but carpel tunnel kicking in, later loves<3

History of Lovers

I've been voted a couple times for "Best Shoulder to Cry On!" But yearbook stress is STILL killing me. I would do something outside of school but I don't have time. I have a calculus test next class and Arsenault was preaching about how it's "our fault" if we didn't do our homework or kept up with the matieral. I swear, she reads my mind!

So as none of you know, I started my first five years of life in Seattle, Washington. My mom had a friend circle which is still there even though we are in NC. My mom keeps in touch with one of the aunties who called the other day. My mom and her don't talk often, well ...what are they to talk about right? Well when they do talk, they talk for hours and catch up. I came down yesterday I believe asking my mom what's up.

"I spoke to Neeru Masi today. She gave me two bad news today." - mom

"Oh no! What happened?!"

"One aunty has breast cancer and she is only 35!"

"Oh my God!"

"Also, this other aunty had a daughter. She's only one year older than you, Amanda. She used to visit our house many times, we even have pictures of her and her mom. Well, this aunty married a Punjabi and had Amanda. She's a pretty girl, but she is mentally disabled. Years later, the couple had a divorce and the husband left. The mom and her sister (older or younger, I'm unsure) lived with Amanda together.

Recently, Amanda's mom was complaining about loosing money and not having the right amount in her wallet or purse. One day, the aunt caught Amanda stealing money from her mother's purse! She told Amanda's mom and (for some reason) she went to Amanda's school. The kids at her school taught her how to steal from her mom's purse. The students also molested her. The school lied and never notified Amanda's mother. They are having a lawsuit right now."

Hearing such news, whether I know her or not, haunts me.
Apparently it was on the news and such.

On another note, I'm going to be broke by March.
$130+- Regionals...I'm still unsure if I have to pay or not, BLAH
$18 - NHS stahls
$47 - Yearbook
$200 - State or UNCC deposit?!

I have to fit prom in there still.
I think I OD'd on an entire box of Ice Breakers. The sour / sweet kind.
Oh report card. Same as last quarter, All B's and one A. Still a 4.5 GPA :D I got two D's on my midterms though, ouch? Oh well, still get to go to the Honor Roll Party, heyy!
I'm going to take a State campus visit Friday. AHH FUTURE SCHOOL?!

This is the most randomest shit I've ever written. Sorry?

Happiness, again

I got accepted to NC STATE :D :D :D
I love how I planned to apply to the school last minute and because my mother made me. Note to self: mom's can be right for 98% of the time. Who knows if I go there, I really want to since right now it is between that and UNCC. Oh well, whoever gives me the most money ;]

I found out Friday around 5ish and I was going to go to Esita's around 6:30ish to work on my HOSA Research Persuasive Speaking event on obesity. I like had NOTHING and it was the next morning. So I go over and she is proud that I got in State and then her boyfriend and her totally edit my paper, don't worry they changed a lot but all the main stuff was MINE. She did my speech that night around 11. I had not practiced my speech ONCE. I was so nervous I had a hard time falling asleep. My throat was sore too. Well we wake up oober early. I'm so freaking out and nervous because I hadn't practiced and I was messing up when I did.

We reached at JM and so many Indians hahahaha. I knew most of them, I even saw Parth's girlfriend, she really is hot. Anyways, we go to our designated rooms for our events. I was the first to reach and three others followed. Only four in my event, NICE! They were so sweet, when we were telling event coordinater our name, the kids from A.L. Brown were like that is a pretty name! And I'm like thanks, competition :p I was so nervous though, I was jittery and wanted to cry at the same time. I looked horrible too! Crappy ass top, and just today I realized I could've worn my argyle sweater that is hiding in my closet. Anywho, I was third to go. Vishalee was infront of my room so we helped each other out. Her's was very good!

Esita was done and came sat with me before I went. As I go in, I was anxious, espeically in those heels! I shake their hands and go up. I start and I completely forgot to NOT look at the cards. But I speak slow, but not slow enough. I look up but my hair kept going in my face. When I was done, I go up and shake their hands, but the hot guy judge was like "We still have to ask you questions!"

Ooops.

I answer the questions and the follow ups, not too great since I needed more time to think. But I kept elaborating. They said thank you and I shook their hands for the third time.

I go out and I'm relieved. Esita is like how'd it go? What questions did they ask? I told her honestly I didn't feel tooooooo great about it, but I did my best! Well we finished around 10:50 and awards wasn't untill 12:30. We just chilled with the Indians, I was looking for Jihan since I barely knew anyone. We just chilled and I drank a lot of water since my mouth was parched every two seconds. EVEN during my speech! It was 12:30 and it was time to sit in the auditorium with our school. Haha all nine of us (one was Mrs. Gardon and the other her daughter.) I had to pee so freaking bad. SO BAD. Out of drinking too much water and also from being ANXIOUS to what I got.

You see, they call the top ten competitors of each event and only give medals to top three. However in my competition, there was only four people and so if I didn't get top three, it would be SUPER embaressing to not get the medal and everyone in the place would know. So I'm dying to pee and all these competitors are going up. Two of the kids in our school (I didn't know them prior to Saturday) didn't even place top 10. However, Shreya did get to go up and I was taking crazy pictures (all came out bad!) She won second! I was so happpy! Then Vishalee's event, I wanted to see what she got but she didn't even get on stage! Apparently she was out at Taco Bell with her boyfriend. Ooops? hahaha she won second! Next was mine! I had to walk through the row in heels and everyone was like "Go Pranjali!" and I wanted to get out of the row before I fell! Esita slapped my butt as I exited hahahahahaha.

I walk on stage last of course and carefully since I'm in heels. Oh yeah, they pronounced my name like this: "Prunn - HAAA- lee Shah." J=silent hahahaha. or should I say JAJAJAJA

Fourth place goes to "not my name."
I looked at our row and they're like smiling to know at least I got a medal.
Third place goes to "not my name."
My mouth grins knowing I made top two!
Second place goes to "not my name."
AND I LOOK AT MY ROW AND THEY'RE MAKING OPEN MOUTHSS AND I MAKE THE MOST EMBARESSING OPEN MOUTHED EXPRESSION ON STAGE (totally unprofessional!) and I was like OMFGGG!! But they gave me a medal and people are cheering and OMGG :-D I regret not taking a video GAHHH! But the guy got a GREAT picture of me getting medaled.

I was so happy!!! Thanks to Esita and Nasir's hard work though! I get to go to states, and for FREE!!

Esita got 4th which I was proud of. It was one of the hardest! Jihan and Maiya got 8th on theirs which was equally challenging.

I got home happy, so happy. Good week, no? I'm just terribly sick with a pile load of homework and I'm hungry but I can't get up because I'm sick.

It all goes around.

Love you all<3

Nuts. Completely Nuts.

This week was stressful to the max. In nineteen hours I will learn if I am admitted to NC State. Totally a nail biter. Hah, it's hilarious actually. I wasn't even going to apply to that place, and in just a couple months I realized that this might be my future. I really really really want to get in there because

a. It isn't near home
b. The only public school not close to home

make sense? haha. I just hope where ever I end up going will be the perfect choice for me, my major, and my parents' wallets.

Stress is equivalent to procrastinating a competition event. I am doomed.

So MyHappyPlanet.com is the only place where international male (models) find me attractive. Shocker! I know! haha. Weird people on there...but it just gives me laughs.

Wow it's been a week. So let's begin with Saturday. It was a lot of fun, I looked smexy in gold and ice skating was amazing! I was sore for approximately three days straight, but well worth it. I only fell twice!

I HATE DESPISE LOATHE DETESTE Principal of Engineering. I don't care if I get an extra quality point, it's one of the hardest, confusing, horrible class I've ever taken (next to Calculus, of course) but like teacher doesn't really teach. Vague, good word to describe the CLASS. Why didn't I just take Housing and Interiors? At least I would learn how to decorate my dorm room.

Hmm what else? I'm sleep deprived and I fail to eat healthy. I'm such a hypocrit for doing that and still make an argument on obesity.

Je voudrais un boyfriend. Only because Valentine's Day is coming soon.

I miss summer. And you too, Neerali! Love xxx.

Duke Interview

...WENT GREAT!!!

I walk into Panera, kind of nervous of course. I look to the right, in that section where people are on their laptops and phones. I see this sexy guy with the greatest hair cut on the phone (pretty loud) and laptop, and I smile and I'm like inside, "Thank you God for giving me a great interviewer!" He doesn't really smile, and I keep looking in that area but it's just a group of men chatting and looking at me really weird.

"Pranjali!"

I turn around and it's Bryan. He's old, like my dad. He offers to treat me to something, but I couldn't let him do that! So I bought myself Sprite...well Sierra Mist says the cashier. I offered to get him something, don't worry, Mrs. Manners!

I fumbled a lot of words, I didn't really think before I spoke. However, I have a feeling he understood what I was talking about...(but I could barely understand myself haha)

Hahaha I'm such good at embarrassing myself. I asked about traditions at Duke (he didn't give me any) but he said he missed going to the basketball games. So I added in, "Go Dare Devils!"

Fail. EPIC! I ment Blue Devils...sigh, I'm pathetic. I also failed when he asked me what's one thing I don't like about high school. I said the work load. WTF PRANJALI?! YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE THE WORK LOAD.

In the end, he was really impressed. Ask if you want a full detail of the interview. I hope I get in, at least with a LOT of money. Or it's probably NC State...well if I get in there (find out in seven dayssss!)

Chandz birthday party tomorrow, I got her a cute dress from forever 21. I want it for myself! I wanted to make a more personal gift since we're "best friends" and all. However, we don't like have inside jokes or anything. So I couldn't really make a funny/cute shirt for her. Oh well. I'll make a card. I hope I can still go, I don't think I have a ride. How pathetic, I still can't drive. Damn you DMV for making me so scared of your services and employees!

Oh PS, this guy told me today that I shouldn't curse, "it doesn't suit you." Well I shall stop, not because he said that...well yes he's a reason but also it's not beneficial. I might slip it out at the wrong time...(see "dare devil")

Slumdog Millionare on bootleg? check! Thank you Rajni dada hahaha. Hope to see it this weekend, as well as finishing that HOSA stupid freaking essay on obesity.

I noticed I write really long blogs, oh well, all for Zhara to practice her Hooked on Phonics skills on.

Ho Hum. Ft. Zhara

I love Kaling's blog, so freaking funny. Zhara, check it out. You'll love it, comedy AND shopping!

Okay I'm pretty busy right now, Calculus midterm tomorrow (automatic fail?) and I haven't even rigorously studied the material...at ALL. I'm such an idiot. <-- edit that test was a beast. bad beast :( I mean before I got it, I thought it would be so so so so hard like last year's exam that I wouldn't be able to do a SINGLE problem. I think I did much better than I thought. Everyone else was complaining though...I guess I was reading it upside down lol Uhhh mom was on total bitch mode for a few days (sorry Zhara that you had to endure my cursing and complaining!) okay edit again, bi polar woman! when she was pissed off (for what reason...?) she would make kick ass food, garlic naan, OATMEAL COOKIES?! but now she's back to normal. I do miss the spontaneous acts of awesome food though. For Yearbook, our exam was to write two essays about experiences and class suggestions blah blah. We ended up typing it and I think mine was awesome. How? Well... a. I've done the same prompt basically three times b. It was awesome because I made it extremely funny. Like you wish you were grading MY essay funny. c. I'm pretty stupid for telling Mrs. Strantz about three times that it was funny, so she's going to expect it's like Dane Cook on paper when it's really middle school humor. Oops. Damn you self-fufilling prophecy!

Okay guys, I pray to sweet Jesus that "telling a lot of people your good news doesn't JINX it " is a FALSE statement.

Duke Alumni, Bryan (better be hawt) called me yesterday afternoon. 3 o' clock tomorrow at Panera, I have an interview with someone who graduated from Duke! He's like I'm 5'9'' and might be wearing my Duke hat (haha phone sex interview? me likee) I know, I know...most of the applicants get this oppurtunity, it is part of the admissions process. But I strongly feel this is my final shot in getting accepted...or gasp! rejected. I either make it or break it over bread tomorrow. Last time I participated in a phone interview, it didn't go as fantastic as I hoped it would be, but I did get to go to DC. Lets hope its the same with tomorrow. Cross your fingers, but only on one hand. If you do both, you cancel it. Duh.

Uhmmmm so tiny rant. I hate when smart people worry so freaking much, then ask me how I did (and I usually do bad, really really bad) and then they get their grade or results and it is usually an A or in this case 90. ON TOP OF THAT, they rub it in saying I'M SO HAPPY blah blah blah STFU. Same with Carolina shit, fuck off.

Okay another mini rant, I edit spreads in the yearbook. I was editing a fellow senior's feature...lucky her, she got accepted to Carolina. However, she doesn't know that "alot" is TWO FREAKING WORDS. TWO WORDS. AND YOU GOT INTO UNC OVER ME? WHAT?!

Fin.

A little bit better

Okay I lied, not that much better. I'm positive I failed my AP English test. No, I am not being pessimistic. I don't have a chance to do well because I didn't finish answering more than HALF the questions. THAT'S HORRIBLE >:[

I made a cute shirt for Nina and a tote for Laura just a few minutes ago. I'm pretty proud of what I did, it was my first time experimenting with fabric paint. I hope I can do more, and much better crafts. On the other side of Laura's tote, I will put an iron on of "BLONDE" rhinestones. However, I'm going to put it upside down :) Hope she takes it well...she better! Or no tote for her!
Tomorrow should be a good day though, photo shoot with Laura and then night with Nina and friends for her birthday. Bad thing, I'm breaking out :( And I don't have a new or cute dress to wear. The one's I have, I've worn a kazillion times or it's too cold for a halter. Grr, mom won't let me get one.

Internet is being super gay today, super slow. Gaaaaaay. This month is filled with birthdays now that I realize. Tomorrow is Nina's shindig, Monday afternoon is birthday lunch for Shreya, Ruth's birthday is Friday, and Chandni's partay on Saturday. I like being invited to these events. It shows someone wants to share their happy day and excitement with you. That says something. Don't take invitations for granted, kids. Ew invitations was a word in my English essay passage.

I'm totally out of texts til next week -___- However, a young chap texted me because he was at an INDIAN resteraunt. HOW SWEET?! We made plans to eat at that resteraunt sometime after school...but with a mutual friend of ours. I didn't want to make it sound like a date or anything, I was just being courteous...I think?

No one reads my blog, sorry it's not that amusing...or maybe no one knows it exists. I'm scared to show friends because my blogs are totally cheesy and lame. XD

UHM I got a cute tank top from Old Navy today. And some black heels from Naturalizer. I forgot how they look like, because honestly, I could care less about shoes. I'm SO picky when it comes to any kind of shoes. I have this ideal prototype of the perfect pair(s) of heels or flats and I never get to find them. I should just be a shoe designer. Sigh.

Ew I need to get my nails done...as well as my eyebrows. Hopefully tomorrow? I want to look cute tomorrow, haven't been out in a while. Blesphmy.

My room is a hot mess. HOT mess. I need to make it squeaky clean so Laura can breathe and walk in it tomorrow :p UGH I WANT A CUTE DRESS FOR TOMORROW. I want a red silk dress that is flowy, like Asian looking. And hot gold heels and red finger nail polish. Red nail polish is a statement itself. Too bad I can't wear my dream outfit.

Done complaining. Actually I'm not. And I won't feel sorry for being a complainer for I have every right to be pissed at the world. I got the actually denied letter today, gonna burn that shit tomorrow. I need Laura to capture the moment.

adios.

Failure.

I didn't get into UNC-Chapel Hill. Every single one of my friends who applied there got accepted. Every single one. Hard work doesn't always pay off, kids. I cried so much yesterday, even this morning at SCHOOL. Couldn't focus on studying Biology last night, so today I got an 88 on the midterm.

I feel like a failure. I am not good enough to be accepted into a top school? If everyone else got in, why can't I? I am not a ding dong, but after seeing "We are sorry to say...", I feel like the biggest idiot alive.

What did I do wrong? Did I not put enough hours with each activity? Did I not have enough awards or honors? Did that damned D in Chemistry ruin my chances to any prestigious university??!

I hate my life. Congrats to those accepted.

OH YEAH. And those girls who were crying and whining and freaking out even though I bet MONEY that you'd get in (and really did)...go suck it. Yesterday before we found out, a girl was freaking out for no reason and saying if she didn't get in she'd die. I ran out of fingers on my hand stating why she WILL get in. I started to see tears in her eyes and she starts shaking her head, "STOP Pranjali, don't do this to me. I don't want to hear this." Bitch! I'm trying to compliment you? Whatever.

I hate my life. Thank you Chapel Hill for crushing my hopes and dreams. I know this is life and we all get rejected, but damn.

P.S. that was suppose to be my first choice university.

just dance.

I love trying new things. It is the only excitement in my life. Today I learned how to do the salsa and cha cha. Those dances are so sexy. I mean SO sexy. I will promise to go to every class each Monday.
Do you know HOW long I've been trying to learn how to salsa? Most of my high school career. I thought the only way to learn was to sign up for Made. Leo, the instructor, is spicccccy hot ;) I did something so embarrassing and he was standing in front of me for most of the time. He's like the typical long curly haired, tan, tall, handsome Latin guy. He was suave. Muy suave.

1, 2 tap, 1, 2 tap, spin to the left.

A friendship isn't a friendship if you're the only one who starts the conversation. I've realized that before, but I decided to stand my ground today and not say a word to this person. Making that extra effort doesn't count if it isn't acknowledged. You can quote me :P
Well I continued not to say or wave or anything like I've been doing all last week. However, when we had experiments, he was totally talking to me like nothing happened. Even after school. Oh well. I'm glad he made the effort this time. It's going to be that way untill we really establish a friendship. I think its more of a crush and full of flirting rather than friends.
That explains all the awkwardness.

I didn't really do any homework or extra studying. I wanted to take a day off. Hah, like I'm allowed one of those.

Random, that's cute. Blogger randomly saves what I type. Nice!

Okay so calculus, so much for my 94%. I have no idea how to find rotating volume on this new section.

I'm stressed all over again you guys. Senior Exit poster is due next week and I haven't printed pictures or make my poster or even start or even KNOW what to put on it. Yikes.

Going to work out...possibly...I'll let you know next blog.
Thanks for reading.

Happiness

I am very easy to please.

  • 94% on my Calculus BC test Friday. First A on a test! Second test I don't need to retest!
  • Completed all of my college applications, it is only up to Mrs. Strantz and Mrs. Rhoades to do my teacher recommendations.
  • Neerali wrote a beautiful letter about me to send to Duke, brought tears to my eyes. I never had someone write something so sincere about me.

Today I watched The Unborn with Heather and Parth, after "studying" Medical Science. How was it? Let's just say, it had it's scary moments, but it still sucked. I wish I spent those ten dollars on a more beautiful movie, like Slumdog Millionare. However, I was pretty sure those two sophomores wouldn't have wanted to see it. It's fine, that highly praised movie deserves to be seen with highly appreciative people. Like my mom, or a cute boy ;)

I need to really study and sell some business ads. I just have been on "chill mode" since I pressed "Send Application" to Elon. Sigh, best feeling in the world. Well, second best. I just hope I get into all the places I have applied to. Even though I don't know how to use "jinx" or "knock on wood," I just hope I get into Chapel Hill. I just want to make my parents, family, friends, teachers, and supporters proud. That is all.

Thanks for reading.
