The amazing feeling, of being proud of yourself.

I may not have praise worthy achievements, like a career beginning job position, or a paying internship, or even awards.

However, I have completed 70 / 100 hours I want to get to for my Occupational Therapy shadowing experience. I'm doing pretty well and working pretty hard for my Human A&P II course! It maybe 5 hours long and 4 times a week until mid-July, but I'm knocking out an intense course now rather than cramming it in before grad school applications are due / my senior year.

There are too many flaws I have and so many issues I am aware I need to work on (like working out, don't get me started, or helping out more at home).

But am I perfect? No. Will I use that as an excuse? Never. But we all need to stop and give ourselves "15 minutes of fame", everyday. I know there is so much work I need to do, but I can't stop smiling and look back, and feel accomplished.

If you need to find me, I'm patting myself on the back ;)

Girl with a Pearl Earring

Officially half way done with my shadowing hours, 50 more to go!

After two months of calling and going to the office and emails, I am officially enrolled in the Human A&P II course as of yesterday! I start Tuesday (my birthday, waah). The class + lab are brutal: 5pm - 10:30 pm MTWTH. Until July 17th. Sigh, at least I'll be another step closer to graduate school!

I can't believe I'm turning 21 in a few days. Things aren't working out how I want them so far, so it's frustrating since I'm doing it by myself.

Feeling lonely lately since most of my friends are busy or not home.

Mute

It honestly gets frustrating when you finally have something fascinating you've learned or witnessed or came across and you want to share it with somebody special, i.e. my boyfriend, my mother. However, I am stuck in this pattern where before I can get a single excited sentence in, I'm interrupted with something irrelevant and unimportant (like, it isn't an emergency) by him or her. And the subject has been changed and the goldfish attention span hasn't even noticed the bitter taste left in my mouth of swallowing my words back in.

Turning 21 in seven days! I know my age is growing older, but mentally, I still feel like I am 17 years old. I don't think I'm a responsible, independent woman that I see others my age become. I feel like I'm not growing up and it's bothering me because 21 may be young to many, but at the same time, you're old enough to know better.

Had a great weekend in Charleston, I am just praying and wishing I can get into MUSC for grad school, it's the perfect location and I feel like I would just fit right in!

What's stressing me out as of now:
GRE's (haven't studied in a long time)
myself (started working out today, totally winded out just doing my average run! no bueno!)
what to wear on my 21st :-o
This roach that followed me from Charleston into my room, SO GROSS. I can't seem to spot it
